What if I ignore my traffic summons? A default judgment will be entered against you with fines and possible suspension or other penalties.

Submitting proof or evidence of a corrective action means that you admit to the violation, but you wish to submit evidence to reduce or lower the fine or present proof that you corrected the violation.
If you have been cited for a FIRST OFFENSE, you may submit proof or evidence of a corrective action for the following violations:
• Operation of vehicle without evidence of registration, § 31-8-1;
• Operation of vehicle when registration is canceled, § 31-8-2;
• Operation of vehicle when registration is suspended, § 31-8-2;
• Operation of vehicle when registration is revoked, § 31-8-2;
• Improper use of evidence of registration or certificate of title, § 31-8-3;
• License to be carried and exhibited on demand, § 31-10-27;
• Notice of change of address, § 31-10-32;
• Unlawful install of windshields and window by either the owner or the installer, § 31-23.3-2. Proof must show four (4) photographs depicting the front, two sides, and rear of the vehicle with the license plates clearly included. The photographs must show that the tint has been removed on all windows or a valid medical authorization from the Division of Motor Vehicles;
• Tail lamps required, § 31-24-7;
• Illumination of rear registration plate required, § 31-24-9;
• Stop lamps required, § 31-24-12;
• Violation of head lamps on motor-driven cycles requirements, § 31-24-25;
• Display of lighted lamps required, § 31-24-27;
• Violation of inspection laws, § 31-38-4; and
• Operating motor vehicle without insurance - 1st offense, § 31-47-9. Proof must show the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle and that the insurance policy was active on the date the summons was issued.
